Reunification Therapy is recommended when a child and a parent have not had regular contact with one another for a period of time, usually occurring after family transition and change. The goal of Reunification Therapy is to restore a parent child relationship and bring balance back to the family system. This process has also been referred to as Family Reintegration. Reunification Therapy involves both parents involved and collaborating together with the Reunification Therapist, in order to create a process for healing and ultimately repairing the relationship between the distanced parent and the child. During Reunification Therapy, the therapist also works with both parents, to help them to improve co-parent communication and ability to resolve conflict together. Prior to starting the process, the Reunification Therapist will provide the parents with an Agreement for Services document, for the parents to review and sign which outlines the Reunification Process
