Learning to manage anger involves identifying triggers and the physical and emotional signs that occur as you begin to get angry. Recognizing and managing these warning signs early is an important step in controlling your anger. Treatment will involve learning to manage aspects that may make you more likely to get angry, such as sleep, keeping stress low by using stress management skills and identifying situations that are likely to set you off.  Also essential for managing anger is learning tools and strategies for manage the emotions of anger so that the person will also have the ability to employ healthier communication and response strategies.
