With over 35 years of experience as a psychotherapist, Catherine is deeply committed to helping individuals access their inner core energy—a force that seeks authentic self-expression, loving connections with others, and freedom from the constraints of fear.
Catherine employs a variety of therapeutic approaches, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Somatic Processing, Ego State Therapy, Mindfulness-based strategies, and Bioenergetic Interventions. Each method is tailored to meet the unique needs of her clients, fostering healing and personal growth.
As an EMDRIA-Certified EMDR Therapist, Catherine specializes in guiding clients to unlock their innate healing energy and overcome barriers to wellness. Through her compassionate and skilled care, she supports individuals in achieving lasting emotional resilience and a greater sense of well-being.
Catherine has several areas of special interest in her practice, including relationship challenges, trauma, and other distressing life experiences. She works with individuals experiencing anxiety difficulties, panic attacks, fears, social anxiety, and stress management concerns. Catherine also specializes in addressing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), obsessions and compulsions, and depression.
She provides support for couples and individuals navigating relationship conflicts, as well as families and parents dealing with various concerns. Catherine has a particular focus on adults who experienced disturbing events or unmet needs during childhood, including adult children of alcoholics and those struggling with codependency.
Her expertise extends to boundary issues, over-giving, caregiver fatigue, and challenges with self-care, such as eating, sleeping, and exercise. Catherine also helps individuals recover from domestic abuse, whether verbal, emotional, physical, sexual, or spiritual in nature.
She provides compassionate care for those experiencing grief, loss, or bereavement, including issues related to relationship breakups, divorce, death, separation, retirement, empty nest transitions, or job loss. Catherine works with clients to rebuild self-esteem, address chronic self-doubt, and regain empowerment.
She is also skilled in helping individuals navigate feelings of shame, trouble owning their emotions or needs, feelings phobia, emotional numbness, and shutdowns.
