Christa holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is currently pursuing licensure in Professional Clinical Counseling. She possesses a diverse range of experience working with individuals, families, and specific populations, including mothers in crisis and youth in foster or adoptive homes. Her expertise encompasses addressing emotional and behavioral issues, facilitating psychotherapy groups for adolescents, and supporting individuals coping with anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Christa has previously served in an inner-city school system, where she addressed emotional and behavioral disorders among students. Her work often involves supporting individuals experiencing instability and navigating frequent life changes. With sensitivity and compassion, Christa employs a variety of evidence-based practices, integrating approaches such as narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, and trauma-informed care.
For young children, she skillfully adapts her therapeutic approach through the use of play and narrative interventions. Establishing a supportive and safe therapeutic relationship is paramount in her practice, and she strives to create an environment that fosters warmth and security, even when addressing challenging aspects of clients' stories.
Additionally, Christa has begun the process of obtaining certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is eager to begin training in Brainspotting, further enhancing her ability to support her clients.
